Bourne is believed to be the birthplace of Hereward The Wake, a local resistance leader against William the Conqueror. The town was also the home of Raymond Mays of motor racing fame, and the place where the famous BRM and ERA racing cars were built.

Mill House is a perfect base for the leisure-seeking tourist looking to enjoy the culturally enriched county of Lincolnshire and its many hidden treasures, one example being Burghley House located just 10 miles away.

We are only 7 miles from the famous Grimsthorpe Castle, park and gardens, and 10 miles from the historic town of Stamford. Only 30 miles away is the county town of Lincoln.

You should visit Tolethorpe Hall, home of the Stamford Shakespeare Company. An early 17th century manor house, built in the Elizabethan style, it was almost derelict when the Company purchased it in 1977. They soon restored it and built an 400 seat open-air theatre in the grounds. Even further improved, the 13 week summer season now attracts more than 30,000 people from the UK and overseas
